Genuine Imported Italian Tapestry
We at Tapestries UnLimited use only the finest tapestry imported from Italy. It is manufactured on Jacquard Looms, which were designed to create beautiful and intricate picture scenes as far back as the late 1700s. Although we are continually looking for different motifs, our Vineyard and Seaside Collections represent fine Jacquard weaving. Italian tapestry is also especially durable and ages extremely well. Over the years, the tapestry will remain brilliant in color while usage softens the material. It is 80% cotton and 20% polyester so it can be machine washed & dried on cool gentle.
Jacquard Loom Weaving - Joseph-Marie Jacquard's
(1732-1834) loom design allowed for the weaving of figured patterns by means of
punched
cards. The punch card concept was refined and later employed in the development of
the first calculators, pioneered by Charles
Babbage (1792-1871). Today's computers can trace their roots to
Joseph-Marie Jacquard's concept of punch cards and picture weaving.
Decorative Cotton Fabric
The Decorative Cotton Fabric is made of fine cotton material and features bold designs & colors in Seaside Designs. Backings are carefully chosen to be color coordinated. It is perfect for the summer months on Cape Cod or any other area where bright colorations will add to the fun.
